RESULTS: Hot Cocoa

FInally made the jump to trying hot chocolate made from baking cocoa. As one raised on the hot packet mixes with the occasional splurge in late teenage years into Abuelita's hot chocolate from real chocolate bars, it is hard to enjoy hot chocolate that has the bitter taste of purer chocolate. Despite how easy it is to make, it would have been a lot of experimenting with sugar and more chocolate to get it to a point that I would have enjoyed it.

At the beginning, I miss read teaspoons for tablespoons. (See photo) When I saw that there was more than in a regular pre-package mix, I thought, "This doesn't look right." Good thing I double checked or I good have had a cup of the most bitter hot chocolate ever.

Overall I'd give a separate grade for taste at a B- maybe even a C.

GRADE: B

  1. I make that mistake often! (i.e. misreading recipes) And I agree, hard to get used to real hot chocolate vs. prepackaged hot chocolate. :)
