Going to DC Glass Works was quite the trek, as it wasn't actually in DC, but in Maryland. Since I don't have a car this took a long time to get to and even longer time to get home from. It was well worth the trek and all the waiting in the cold. Watching the workers with their skills and seeing the beautiful lava like molten glass transform into beautiful glasses, vases, and sculptures was extremely transfixing and beautiful.
Thank you to Antonia, who told me about the open house at DC Glass Works! So glad she told me and SO glad she will be taking a class there now!
Turns out, after going to glass studio open house, Wikihow was back up and running and it has a
how to on it.
Here are some pics.

I'm glad you had a good time! There's a whole glass museum somewhere. Rhode Island? Mass? I can't remember but it would be cool to visit too.
ReplyDeleteI want to go there! Find out where it is and we can add it to our long list of places to visit when we are rolling in mucha mulla!
